VR focused QoL and immersion mod based heavily on clean HUD_the traveler by hilightnotes. Most options will work in flat screen too.

All of my mods are completely open source and may be used by anyone in any way they wish with or without crediting me. However, since my mods are often derivative off other peoples work, please credit them if you use my material since, for example, most elements of this mod are derivative of hilightnotes mod.Description

This mod is an amalgamation of many different changes to the environment and VR drawn from a combination of other modders work as well as my own work and investigation. Its largely based onhilightnotesmod found here. In addition numerous other QoL and environmental/atmospheric changes have been made to improve the VR experience, though all of these mods except for the VR QoL specific mod works fine for flat screen.

• In the main file choose one of the two "All in One" .PAK options. One keeps the lower HUD info, the other removes it.
• Modularly choose each thing you want individually, putting each .PAK for each option/set of options you want into your /MODS folder.
• Manual installation only.
  

Current Features

Clean Binocular & Scanner Adjustments

• For Flat Screen, Binoculars add information such as mission info, jetpack status, and hazard info, doesn't work in VR.
• For Flat & VR, Binoculars have had the background blue/cyan haze color removed so when using them, the world stays the same color.
  

Darker Derelict Freighters

• Makes Derelict Freighters Darker
• [Good to pair with Immersive Torch below]
  

Darker Nights

• Significantly Darkens Night Time. You will need your torch!

HUD Misc

• Removes numerous HUD elements like mission pop ups, various notifications, and so forth. Mostly things that pop up on the right/upper right of the screen.
• Removes planetary and biome info from bottom left of screen. Hazard and life support bars remain.
• Removes stamina and scanner icons from bottom right of screen. Jet pack icon/amount remains.
  

No Ground Labels, Object Lines

• Removes ground labels from objects as well as the lines connecting them. Ground object information is still available via scanner. Really good for VR because running around in VR you have a constant barrage of information popping up for a second as you run past stuff.
  

No Planetary Flybys

• Removes random spawns of ships flying overhead while on planets, includes regular ships, pirate ships and the newer frigate ship flybys.
  

Immersive Torch

• Narrows torch field of view as well as dims the light a bit. Looks a little more realistic and adds to the feeling of darkness at night, and spookiness in frigates.
  

Longer Shadow Distance

• Changes shadow draw distance from 400 to 1000 to remove almost all "shadow draw pop in" which is very noticeablein VR.
• GPU impacted, low to medium impact.
  

No Tutorial Popups

• Removes tutorial popups. Not recommended for beginners who know nothing about the game though!
  

Quick Journey Milestones

• Quickens the milestone messages so they don't stay up as long.
  

Transparent Menus

• Turns menus in the game transparent, allowing you to see behind them.
  

VR -Grass Distance Increase

• Overall increases grass distance while modifying various values to gain better performance for VR.
• CPU impacted, low to medium impact.
• This is entirely based on aghostlypepper's(aka Lasagna)grass mod found here. Flat screen users should use his mod since this version for VR removes all the extra grasses he added, the larger objects he modified, and shortens grasses for VR so you can see better. It also lowers things like grass density and removes all 90 degree angle grass to increase performance for VR since the LOD is the most important thing.
  

VR - HD Clouds, No Highlights, No Bloom

• Increases cloud resolution in VR
• Removes white highlights on objects in VR
• Removes bloom in VR
  

VR - No HUD HMD Tracking Markers - No VR Warning

• Removes the "tracking icons" for objects not within your field of view in the HUD. For example if your back is to a marked object or your ship, you might see a floating icon in the corner of your HMD showing you the direction of the object. This removes those indicators. The actual icon of the object is left alone, but you must be looking at it in order to see it. Cleans up HMD a bit more.
• Removes the VR Warning Image that pops up when you "leave" your "play area".
• Edits Hand Screen interaction precision
• Changes Travel Speed & Distance in Loading Screen
• Removes Hazard graphics from HUD/HMD
  

VR - QoL, Quickmenu, No Compass

• Two "Inventory Screen" options. See images. Option one is more along the top of your hand. Option 2 is more to the side and facing you.
• Faster Galaxy Map Motion
• 5x is default, .LUA files included for other settings to merge into main .PAK if needed. Quickens the free movement speed within the galaxy map in VR.
• Faster HMD Reset
• Instant HMD reset instead of 1 second.
• Enable 'Leaning' in VR, allowing the player character model in VR to lean forward, backwards, left and right.
• Removes compass entirely for VR, if used in flat mode, compass is gone but icons will still appear.
• Makes Build Menu Screen smaller, chest level, and more comfortable to navigate in my opinion.
• Makes Options Menu Screen smaller, chest level, and again more comfortable to navigate.
• Adjusts angle of left hand menu.
